“Closer to my own skin” is a project with photography as it’s medium about the Queer community, it is focused on young Queer people and how these people share their identity with the world.
Queer is a broad term, also known as an umbrella term, meaning a lot of things fall under this term.
The people who identitify as Queer are very diverse and unique.
Nowadays, is it easy to search and find a connection with (other) Queer people and make your own little community and safe space, with the help of social media.
This is something I missed when I was growing up.
With this project I hope to showcase to young Queer and searching people that their growth and search is something beautiful and that there are a lot of unique and diverse people and that they will never be alone.
